Getting published!
In a satellite festival event at Hawkesbury Central Library, festival regular, facilitator and writer Nigel Bartlett will be sharing his insider’s advice on the at-times opaque process of getting published. Having freelanced for Who, Sunday Life and Harper’s Bazaar, Nigel’s first novel, King of the Road, was published in 2015 by Penguin Random House. The powerful thriller received great reviews, with the Sydney Morning Herald praising how ‘it never misses a beat, delivering a confronting story with great control of the genre’. Nigel will offer practical and invaluable insight into everything from contracts, agents, manuscript assessments and submissions, to how the publishing industry works and how to get the most out of writers groups and networking. This is an absolutely not-to-be-missed event for aspiring authors! Bookings essential: Friday 26 August 10am-12pm, $30, refreshments provided. Booking details here and read more about Nigel here.
