Bernadette Brennan is an academic and researcher in contemporary Australian writing. She was Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Sydney, has published widely on Australian writers and writing. She is the author of many articles and book reviewes, a monograph on Brian Castro and two edited collections: Just Words?: Australian Authors Writing for Justice and Ethical Investigations: Essays on Australian Literature and Poetics. Her most recent publication is A Writing Life: Helen Garner and Her Work. She lives in Sydney.
