The Settlers Arms Inn Banquet
The St Albans Writers’ Festival is not just for writing connoisseurs; this year’s weekend gathering is a celebration of food. The festival features major events on growing food, Indigenous food history, and words of cooking wisdom from some of Australia’s most talented chefs. There’s also plenty of eating, tasting, drinking and sampling to be enjoyed.
Settlers Arms Inn serving up Indigenous and European Settler Foods (Saturday 17th September, 6.30)
We are delighted to announce that the historic Settlers Arms Inn will host a unique indigenous and settler foods banquet drawing from the recipes by two festival speakers: The Oldest Foods on Earth by John Newton and Eat your History by Jacqui Newling. As the sharing platters for each course come out onto the tables, the authors will speak about the history of the food we’re eating. Four shared entrees, four main courses and five desserts should keep the hungriest happy as we eat our way through the history of Australia.
Cost $75 (excluding wine which can be purchased at the bar). If you are yet to book festival tickets this is now an option in the ticketing menu. If you have already booked your day or weekend tickets and would like to reserve a place at the banquet, please email us at enquiries@stalbanswritersfestival.com.au with the names for the dinner. You will then we asked to transfer the relevant amount to our account (details below) to confirm the booking.
